On Thursday, March 7, 1963, the Teenarama Dance Party became a television dance show.  The format was similar to that of American Bandstand.  The teenagers were recruited by the teen committee called  “The Teenarama Regulars” (so named because they appeared on all the show on a regular basis), by school invitation or by simply writing to the show and requesting tickets.
